There are more types of jigger, and according to the different ways of making the water flow in the jigger produce rising falling vertical alternating motion, the jigger can be divided into the following kinds:

Eccentric connecting rod jigger (including piston jigger and diaphragm jigger), no piston jigger, hydraulic drumming jigger, moving screen jigger and so on.

At present, the main use of mineral processing plant is diaphragm jigger. According to the different positions of the diaphragm can be divided into: ① on the movable diaphragm jigger (also known as Dianwal type), its diaphragm chamber is located in the upper part of the body; ② under the movable cone diaphragm jigger, its diaphragm is located under the jigging chamber; ③ side movable diaphragm jigger, its diaphragm is located in the jigging chamber of the side, which includes the trapezoidal jigger, rectangular jigger, and so on.

No piston jigger in the water movement is not by the piston or diaphragm direct drive, but by the blower to send the compressed air to make the water do up and down the alternating motion. This kind of jigger is generally used in coal beneficiation industry.

Moving screen jigger is the use of sieve in the water up and down movement, resulting in rising and falling water flow. The simple hand-cranked jigger of some small-scale processing plants in China belongs to this type.
