Most of the manganese ores in China are poor and require beneficiation. However, since most manganese ores are fine-grained or microfine-grained, and there are a considerable number of high-phosphate ores, high-feather ores and common (associated) beneficial metals, it is very difficult to bring great difficulties to the beneficiation processing. At present, the commonly used manganese ore beneficiation methods are mechanical beneficiation (washing, screening, jigging, strong magnetic separation and flotation), and beneficiation (fire enrichment, chemical beneficiation, etc.).

　　Due to the low recovery rate of re-election before, and the development of magnetic separation technology and equipment is faster, some of the original re-election process of the plant is replaced by magnetic separation, re-election process and jigging equipment for mineral processing has made great progress in recent years, and in the existing re-election process, the grade and recovery of concentrates can be improved by grading and multiple re-election. 　　Manganese ore beneficiation has commonality with other metal ore beneficiation. Due to the low grade of manganese ore, high impurity, complex ore structure, fine embedded particle size, low grade manganese ore through beneficiation to achieve the "poor to rich" is China's manganese industry needs to adhere to the long-term technical approach. Although the direct use of low-grade manganese ore for deep processing has made progress technically, if the original grade of manganese ore can be improved through beneficiation, the production cost will be significantly reduced, thus generating economic benefits. The development trend of manganese ore beneficiation in China is mainly shown in the following aspects:

　　(1) Research on process mineralogy and beneficiation process of manganese ore. Through the research of process mineralogy and improvement of beneficiation process, in order to solve the problem of sorting and dephosphorisation of microfine-grained manganese ores;.

　　(2) Research on ore washing, screening, re-election process and equipment. Ore washing, screening, re-election is an ancient ore dressing method, not only less investment costs, low operating costs, but also an effective sorting method suitable for the characteristics of China's manganese ore resources, through the optimisation of the process and the study of new high-efficiency equipment to improve the sorting efficiency and recovery rate.

　　(3) Development and application of new magnetic separator. Although the investment of magnetic separation is higher, the operating cost is lower and the operation is simple. In recent years, magnetic separation in manganese ore beneficiation has made great progress, and in the future it will still be the key development direction of manganese ore beneficiation, especially the fine and micro-fine grains of magnetic separation process and equipment; (4) the development and application of new magnetic separator.
